STEP 1: CHOOSE SURVEY

Eighty20's XtracT provides access to a wide range of survey databases, many of which track key trends over several years (e.g. AMPS, Finscope, some Stats SA databases). When you sign up, you will see a list of databases. A tick indicates which of these databases you have access to.

If you are unsure of which database you need, simply drag the mouse over each database name for a summary of what it contains. In addition, our search function enables you to identify which surveys contain data on specific issues. If you are looking for a specific variable, enter it into the search box. XtracT will generate a list of applicable questions for each survey so that you can identify which survey to use to get the data you need.

STEP 3: QUERY RESULTS

You are now ready to analyse the data. Your selected fields will appear at the top of the page. You can filter one or more of these if you wish. To display a simple cross-tab, drag the required fields into the row or column areas in the pivot table.

Choose how you want to view the data by selecting weighted population, number of observations, percentage of row or percentage of column. You can export the data as a set of static tables, or as a dynamic pivot table to Excel.
